June 2011 Ystore News

Welcome
I never really paid attention to giveaways and online contests before until I started quilting last summer.

There was this company called Accuquilt that put out a product called the Go Cutter and they wanted to draw attention to this product in a big way.

Here is what they did:

They would send one Accuquilt Go Cutter to a blogger and ask them to review the product. They would then allow the blogger to give away another Go Cutter to one of their readers along with 3 dies.

You have to realize that this is a $450 - $500 prize.

Every single week you would see another new giveaway sponsored by Accuquilt.

There were several ways to enter this contest. You could follow the blogger, tweet about the giveaway, blog about the giveaway, and join in on Facebook. The one condition that you had to do was go to the Accuquilt website and pick out the 3 dies you would want.

Let's think about this for a moment:

  • The blogger builds readers
  • The blogger builds Twitter followers
  • The blogger builds Facebook fans
  • The blogger gains more links to their website
  • Accuquilt gains more brand recognition
  • Accuquilt gains more traffic
  • Accuquilt gains more sales
I have watched Accuquilt EXPLODE and I knew as it was happening that this marketing plan was brilliant.

It got me thinking about online store owners using this same marketing plan to build their store.

Could a store be marketed completely through social media using giveaways as the extra carrot?

I had to find out for myself and that is when I built 1 Choice 4 Quilting. I could use this store to show store owners what to do AFTER they built their store and test out the theories that had plagued my mind.

I would like to show you some reports after being in business for just 4 months.

Again... the ONLY method we have used to market this website has been through social media.

Shawna, what happened with the giveaways?

The giveaways ROCKED!

The giveaways helped us to reach over 1,600 followers in just 4 months

The giveaways helped us to reach over 300 Google Followers on our blog.

The giveaways helped us get several links to our brand new websites naturally (search engines loves this).

The giveaways helped us to gain more traffic.

The giveaways helped us to gain more sales.

I had an idea.

Many of you want to try this out but you aren't really sure how to do it.

So my last giveaway I tried out something new and invited a few other stores to join in on my giveaway and offer some goodies of their own. I asked our readers to check out their websites and let us know their thoughts. These store owners received GREAT feedback and an increased amount of traffic to their stores.

So I want to help you with a marketing plan that will be up and going in time for your Christmas Holiday shoppers. Let’s get started with your first, second, and third giveaway:

Here is what you will need:

  1. You will need a professional looking website for people to visit.
  2. You will need a blog. This will be the home base for your giveaway.
  3. You will want a blog that matches your store - great soft-sell.
  4. You will need a Facebook Page for your new fans to like.
  5. You will need a Twitter Account for your new fans to follow.
  6. You will need to be able to giveaway 3 prizes valued at $25, $30, and $40 or more. If you want to start off with a bang - we have to make this REALLY good.

Here is what you need to send us:

  1. All 3 prizes you are offering, their value, their URL, and their link.
  2. Your name
  3. Your store name and logo
  4. Your Blog URL
  5. Your Facebook Page URL
  6. Your Twitter Name

Here is what you will receive:

  1. I will take all products being donated and look at all stores that want to be involved
  2. I will create 2 matches for you. Example - If you sell to men, we will match up other website and products that specifically sell to men - AND offer noncompeting products.
  3. I will create a blog post for your giveaway and for the giveaway going on with your matches.
  4. I will make sure that people will be visiting your website. You make sure that everything is in place for them to convert.

The Commitment You Must Make:

  1. You will send out the products for the giveaways
  2. You will continue to blog after the giveaways.
  3. You will continue to update and engage with your Facebook Fans.
  4. You will continue to update and engage with your Twitter Followers.

If you do not follow the above steps, there is no point in doing this.

So if you are in, email us right now with all the information we need.

We will review all websites and you will know within 2 weeks if your website has been approved. We are doing this for a limited number of websites and our customers will get first pick.

These giveaways will bring you in traffic, links, fans, followers, people who want to engage with you, and ultimately –as we have seen - more sales.

We want websites that rock, people that rock, and this to be a HUGE success

If you do not have everything required, then give us a call and let's get your site ready. We will make sure to get your site completed quickly so that your site can join us for this amazing marketing opportunity.

The giveaways will start in September so that we have plenty of time to match everybody and it will be just in time for Christmas too!
