March/April 2006 Newsletter

Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to read our March Issue of 1 Choice YStore Newsletter. Exciting things are coming up and this is the best place to get the information while it is hot! So when you are ready to take a break from those horrible things we call taxes...sit back, relax, and enjoy our current issue!

During the month of April, we are going to be focusing on Online Marketing. Technically speaking Online marketing is anything that you do any kind of promotion your company does with the use of the Internet. Any way you use the Internet to encourage people to buy your products. This can include Pay Per Click Advertising, SEO, Banner Exchanges, etc.

BUT before we get into marketing in April, I want to have you consider some important facts:

When it comes to Searching Online, do you know where your customers find you? Do you know what search engines are being used?

Google 48%
Yahoo 22%
MSN 11%

When it comes to Online Shopping, did you know that 19% Of internet users shop online at least once a week?

Seniors are shopping online more frequently. What do they look for? Security. Make them feel comfortable when they provide you with their credit card. They also like simple and easy to use websites that load quickly.

When it comes to purchases for the household, women make or influence over 80% of the buying decisions. When it comes to Online Sales, Online Retail Sales will go from $172 billion in 2005 to $329 billion in 2010

Is your advertising geared towards your customers? Is your store geared towards your customers? Have you paid attention to who is buying from you?

If you haven't....why not? Are you losing sales?

The more you know about your customers, you more you can tailor fit your advertising and store to increase your conversion rates.

We will be bringing tips to you each week in our blog.

In the meantime we want to bring you some information on a Seminar devoted to Yahoo Store Owners.

In The News

Google/AOL Close in on Closing
Well, they're getting closer. After stating their intentions back in December, Google and AOL have signed definitive agreements outlining their new relationship. So says GOOG's latest SEC filing, which indicates the two expect to close the deal in the second quarter.

Included, of course, is Google's $1 billion investment to take a 5 percent equity stake in the Time Warner property. As a reminder, the other provisions call for Google to (I'm quoting from the annual report here):

  • create an AOL Marketplace through white labeling of our advertising technology.

  • expand display advertising throughout our network.

  • collaborate in video search and showcase AOL's premium video service within Google Video.

  • enable Google Talk and AIM instant messaging users to communicate with each other, provided certain conditions are met.

  • provide AOL marketing credits for its Internet properties
